Marc Taylor

​​We are DOG LOVERS through and through!

Born a minister’s son in Ohio, Marc is himself an ordained Pastor. He attended the Horizon School of Evangelism under Pastor Mike McIntosh in San Diego and headed up several ministries while attending the school.  Marc became the senior pastor at the Seaside Christian Fellowship church, in San Diego, for over six years.Since joining Animals First, Marc has become known as “My Wonderful husband" to his wife, Sandie and "Mr Velcro"  to all his furry friends. His gentleness and playfulness makes him a great companion and buddy to guests staying at the pet resort or being groomed at the Pet Beauty Parlor. In addition, Marc now maintains Fairhaven Ranch and oversees the horses, barn, arenas, and landscaping.
Over the years, we have fallen in love with the breeds English Creme Golden Retriever, Cavalier King Charles, and Welsh Pembroke CorgiS. This is why we decided many years ago to develop the dog we were looking for with the perfect looks, temperament and clear of hereditary health issues. 

​We are pleased to offer healthy, well-adjusted, professional quality puppies. All of our puppies are raised in the comfort of our home and come with Registration Papers, current Vaccinations & Deworming, Vet Check & Dew Claws Removed.

Sandie Taylor


Sandie Taylor, born in Devon, was constantly bringing animals home to be cared for or find them new homes, Her very first pet at the age of five was a Tortoise.  Freda is still alive and a member of the family in England, Freda (now 45 years old) has been passed around the entire family to whomever  has children at the time. Sandie started her animal care career by working at Riding stables, and at 16 years old, left home to be a working jockey at Lord Lucan's brother's National Hunt horse racing yard. Later, she become acquainted with Dr. Roger Mugford a renowned and internationally known Animal Behaviorist. In 1987 Sandie was offered position in Los Angles, working with horses on the Show jumping circuit, she accepted the position and has never looked back.

In 1989, Sandie joined  Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization that trains assistance dogs for the physically challenged.  This is where she trained her own dog Yogi Bear to be a service dog for the hearing impaired. (Not knowing that she would meet the man of her dreams who would need just this type of dog). In 1991 Sandie founded ANIMALS FIRST in San Diego, specializing in puppy & obedience dog training. In 1994 Sandie was invited to open a grooming facility at the Helen Woodward Animal Center in Rancho Santa Fe by the center’s director himself, John Calender. The Pet Beauty Parlor was a great asset to the HWAC facility.But closed when Fairhaven Ranch was opened in 2001.
